ROOTED

Cooking is my favourite way to relax, aside from drawing.

 

I love the sound of chopping, the fragrance of spices, and the creativity involved in plating a dish. It also reminds me of my childhood memories at home. Growing up in Hong Kong, my family didn't express love verbally. Instead, they showed it by preparing a table full of food.

Now that I'm starting my own family, my partner and I have different cultural backgrounds. We have become more expressive with our love. I will never forget the moments I spent at home, helping my aunt peel garlic or smelling the aroma of onions being sautéed.

 

These experiences are what keep me rooted.
